Water Temperatures Starting to Slip for St Lawrence River Scuba Divers
Well, it looks like the water temperatures in the St Lawrence river has started to slip for scuba divers in the area. During this summer, the peak temperature was about 76 degrees but this didn't last very long, several days probably. Most of August which is historically the warmest month up here, the local water temperature was around 73. The current temp is now down to 71 and with the air temperatures also starting to fall, I doubt that the water will rebound up. For scuba divers up here, the 7 mm wetsuit and hoods will become the norm again and soon, maybe even dry suits. Northern divers are really adventurers at heart so most do not mind the cooler water temperatures.
